The Challenge
Lenovo needed a brand film that could express what the brand stands for beyond devices and specifications.
The challenge was to position Lenovo as a brand for active, ambitious people.
People who do not wait.
People who create, train, build, compete, travel, perform, and keep moving.
The film needed to make Lenovo feel useful, energetic, and connected to real action.
The Objective
The main objective was awareness.
The film needed to strengthen Lenovo’s brand platform and connect it with people who use technology as a tool to do more.
The Manifesto Idea
The idea was built around Lenovo’s campaign platform:
For Those Who Do.
The film shows different people in motion.
Athletes. Creators. Travelers. Musicians. Builders. Professionals. Risk-takers.
Each person is shown doing something with focus, pressure, and intent.
The message is simple:
Lenovo is for people who turn ideas into action.
My Role
I was involved in the creative development of the manifesto.
My work contributed to shaping the storytelling direction, emotional rhythm, visual structure, and final brand message.
The goal was to make the film feel active, human, and connected to Lenovo’s performance-driven identity.
Creative Direction
The film used a fast cinematic montage style.
The creative direction focused on:
- People in motion
- Sports and physical performance
- Creative work and production
- Travel and exploration
- Technology as an enabling tool
- High-energy pacing
- A strong final brand reveal
The visual language made the campaign feel dynamic and action-led.
It showed technology as part of the process, not the whole story.
Storytelling Structure
The film follows a simple manifesto structure.
1. Action
The opening shows people preparing, training, moving, and pushing forward.
This sets the tone around energy and intent.
2. Momentum
The middle of the film builds pace through different worlds.
Sport, music, work, travel, and creativity are shown as different versions of the same mindset.
Doing.
3. Brand Reveal
The final frame brings the story back to Lenovo with the line:
For Those Who Do.
This turns the film from a lifestyle montage into a clear brand statement.
Communication Strategy
The strategy was to make Lenovo stand for action.
Instead of focusing only on product features, the film focused on the people who use technology to achieve something.
This helped position Lenovo as a brand for:
- Creators
- Professionals
- Athletes
- Explorers
- Entrepreneurs
- Makers
- People with ambition
The message made the brand feel practical, empowering, and human.
Brand Role
Lenovo was positioned as a technology partner for people who act.
The campaign connected the brand with:
- Productivity
- Performance
- Creativity
- Movement
- Ambition
- Progress
- Real-world achievement
This helped make Lenovo feel relevant to people who see technology as a tool for doing, not just consuming.
The Outcome
The final output was a 79-second brand manifesto film built around the “For Those Who Do” platform.
It gave Lenovo a strong awareness asset that could work across digital film, social media, internal presentations, and campaign communication.
The film made the brand idea clear, memorable, and easy to extend.
Why This Project Matters
This project shows how a technology brand can build emotional meaning without relying only on product shots.
The campaign focused on human action first.
Then it connected that action back to Lenovo as the brand made for people who do.
